Experiment by Er. P.C. Sachan-"intellectuals should directly get involved in the political process" , long before the advent of AAP

i am citing here one of the experiments by Er. Prakash Chandra Sachan, about need of active participation in the electoral process by the intellectual people.

This year, i.e. in Feb.' 2012, despite his friends and well wishers strongly dissauding him    ( due to the usual mindset of fear and meaninglessness of an active participation in our political process of a normal middle class intellectual person) he fought the vidhan sabha (MLA) election from his rural constituency with full vigor and enthusiasm, to set up an example and to inspire courage in the ppl belonging to intellectual class to motivate them to participate actively in the political system, and not just whimper and cry about the system from outside, and within 2-3 months of field movement and without use of any unfair means he got around 5000 votes in a constituency comprising of app. 250 villages, meaning that he had roughly 20 solid supporters in every village, who voted for him just for his qualities and beyond any greed, fear or caste factor, and he was the runner up in the election...this demonstrates that all is not lost...agar thoda sa bhi junoon hai to system badla ja sakta hai. bahar khade ho kar rone se kuchh nahi hota

And this experiment happened long before the advent of AAP in Nov.' 2012 (Arvind Kejariwal, who also, incidentally, like my father is an alumni of IIT-Kanpur )

he is continously experimenting at grassroot level for upliftment of rural poors, farmers and crusading against corruption in diffrent institutions, social evils and culture of cheating in exams so rampant in rural areas, and motivating ppl to fight for their rights, despite so many threats and oppositions, in fact he has survived 2 attempts on his life in all this, he is struggling since last 14 years, without any inclination for publicity or accolades.
